Nature Connect Teacher Requirements:

You love being with children

You have a strong connection with nature

You are inherently positive, energetic, curious, and kindhearted

You are thoughtful, alert, aware, and able to keep children safe in the outdoors

You are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
-
You are comfortable sitting on the ground, getting dirty, handling insects, and other small creatures
-
You are interested in learning/further growth in naturalist studies and mentoring
-
You are curious and able to learn new ways of interacting with children
-
You are solid in yourself and able to interact with children and parents with love and respect
-
You are physically fit and able to crouch, dig, climb, hike, and carry up to 40-50lbs
Teaching Qualifications:
-
Preferred MA, BA, teaching certificate or AA in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Environmental Science or related field

Certified CPR and basic first aid
-
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-
Passionate about nature-based early childhood or elementary education
-
Comfortable working with children with differing developmental needs
-
Able to convey wonder and cheerfulness in all weather

Warm and caring personality - friendly and approachable to children and families

Community Work Opportunities
AL Conservation Corps - Coastal Program positions (paid, seasonal)
The Student Conservation Association is now hiring crew members for its 2022 AL Conservation Corps - Coastal Program, based in Mobile, AL. These paid positions provide great experience for young adults (18+ years old) that are interested in an environmental career, love hands-on outdoor work, or are eager to gain field experience.
